About MCP App Directory
The MCP App Directory is the world's first AI-graded directory of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. We index, score, and monitor every MCP server so you can find the best tools for your AI assistants.
How Does the Scoring Work?
Every MCP server is evaluated on 8 quality parameters using automated analysis of their GitHub repository, documentation, code quality, and community signals:
- Recency (20 pts) — How recently the repository was updated
- Documentation (15 pts) — Quality and completeness of README and docs
- Tests (10 pts) — Presence and coverage of automated tests
- Auth/Security (10 pts) — Authentication and security best practices
- Star Velocity (15 pts) — Growth rate of GitHub stars
- Security Audit (15 pts) — Code security analysis
- Install Docs (15 pts) — Clarity of installation instructions
- Community Signals (15 pts) — Forks, issues, and community engagement
Total score 0-100 → Grade A (80-100), B (60-79), C (40-59), D (20-39), F (0-19).
Why Trust the Scores?
Our scoring is fully automated and transparent. Each score breaks down into sub-scores that you can inspect on every server detail page. The system runs continuously — scores update as repositories change. We do not accept payments for score manipulation, ensuring every server ranking is merit-based.
